The Short version:My husband and I had an amazing experience with having our 3 rings made by Bruce. Any time I see someone looking for a custom jewlery piece, I always suggest Bruce.Full Review:I reached out to Bruce in Summer 2022 when my now husband and I were discussing engagement rings. My husband wanted to ensure I got the ring I wanted and knew I was not a fan of the ones we typically seen in stores. I'm not a diamond person, I love color.I reached out to other designers who would not even talk to me because my budget was too low. Bruce never once made me feel like I was too low of a budget. He even suggested stones in the color I wanted, based on the stone I first mentioned I was interested in was actually a softer stone. The first ring (we had 3 rings made by Bruce) we went back and forth many times to get the design just right. Not once did he make me feel rushed or that I was being a burden for not being able to make up my mind. All the designs were beautiful, and I needed to take a step back at one point to picture the ones I kept going back to. Even the day of the pick up he did a quick adjustment to my ring size, and due to the hot weather I still thought it was too tight. Bruce kindly mentioned that before expanding the size again, to wait until the colder months (about 3 months after the pick up) and see how it fits. It was a great call because if we sized up again it likely would been too big during the winter months. Now it fits perfectly year round.A little over a year later we reached out to have our wedding bands made, and the experience was the same. I wear my engagement ring as my primary band, and my wedding band is a beautiful matching shadow band. My Husband although still getting used to wearing a ring, is finding his ring comfortable and loving the yellow and white gold ring he had made. (My rings are white gold, and my husband wanted some white gold to tie my rings into his).Thank you Bruce!

Working with Bruce was such a seamless process! FAQ

How long does it take to make a custom piece of jewellery?

The time to create a custom piece can vary depending on the piece being made, but generally speaking we usually complete each piece within 4 – 6 weeks after your initial design has been approved by you.

How does it all work?

Let’s Talk: We start with an indepth conversation of what you would like to have made. Who is it for? What colours do they/you like? What is your budget? Tell us about yourself or the person this is for. The more information we have, the more we can personalize your piece.
Designing: You’ll be working directly with Bruce Trick, who will go over your design options and budget with you. He will draw sketches for you and provide you with an estimate once he has an idea of what he will be creating.
We then take a 50% deposit and begin work on your piece from scratch.
Modelling: Bruce will then turn your two-dimensional design sketch into a three-dimensional model that will be rendered realistically for your approval before moving on to the next stage.
Creating: After that, a wax model is created and cast in the material of your choice. We sand, buff, and polish your piece to perfection after casting before setting any gemstones.
Love it!: Your piece is ready to ship after a final inspection and your final payment is required upon pick-up or before delivery.

Do you warranty your pieces?

Yes we most certainly do! We offer a lifetime warranty on all of our custom handmade pieces against manufacturing defects.

Can I use my own gemstones or an old ring that was given to me?

Yes you most certainly can! We specialize in re-making piece from jewellery handed down to them. Please make sure to send images and any information about the pieces you have so that we know what we have to work with when designing something just for you!

How much does it cost?

The answer to this depends on many factors such as:

if you have jewellery we are repurposing
if you have any scrap jewellery that you would like to add to offset the cost (like broken chains)
the size of the piece to be made (is it a small ring or a large bangle?)
What are the gemstones, their sizes, and the quality? These can have the largest impact on a piece in terms of price.

So you can see there is no easy answer, but we can have an estimate for you after discussing what you would like to have made, and with no commitment.

Do you do appraisals?

We appraise the pieces that we make only. We do not appraise our pieces ourselves. To avoid a conflict of interest and bias we use an accredited third party appraiser.

Do you do repairs?

We only repair our own jewellery.

Can you do engraving?

Yes we can! We can do hand engraving, machine engraving, and laser engraving.
